3 Mistakes Killing Your AI Prompt Sales (And How to Fix Them)
Stop leaving money on the table—fix these errors and start selling more prompts today.
Welcome back to TipSeason’s Make Money with AI series!
I have been selling AI Prompt bundles for more than 6 months now. If you’ve tried selling ChatGPT prompts but haven’t seen the results you hoped for, don’t worry I got you covered.
The good news? Most people make the same three mistakes when starting out.
Today, I’m going to show you what these mistakes are—and exactly how to fix them so you can start selling more prompts and making money faster.
Let’s dive in.
Mistake #1: Your Prompts Aren’t Solving a Specific Problem
Here’s the truth: People don’t buy prompts because they’re “cool” or “interesting.”
They buy them because they solve a real problem.
For example:
A vague prompt like “Write me a blog post” won’t sell.
But a prompt like “Generate a 500-word SEO-optimized blog post for small business owners about time management tools” is a winner.
How to Fix It:
Focus on ONE specific pain point your audience has.
Ask yourself:
Who am I helping?
What problem am I solving for them?
Then, create prompts that address that exact need.
Action Step: Review your current prompts. Are they specific and actionable? If not, rewrite them using the example above as inspiration.

Mistake #2: You’re Not Selling the Outcome, Just the Tool
Most people pitch their prompts like this:
“Buy my ChatGPT prompts—they’re awesome!”
But here’s the problem: Buyers don’t care about the tool—they care about the result.
Instead, focus on the outcome your prompts deliver.
For example:
Don’t say: “These prompts help you write captions.”
Say: “Get 50+ high-converting Instagram captions in minutes—no writing skills needed.”
How to Fix It:
Highlight the benefits, not the features.
Show buyers exactly how your prompts will save them time, make them money, or solve their biggest headaches.
Action Step: Rewrite your product description or sales pitch to focus on the outcome, not the tool.
Mistake #3: You’re Not Packaging Your Prompts for Maximum Value
Selling one or two random prompts won’t excite buyers.
People want solutions, not scraps.
For example:
A single prompt for writing emails might sell for $5—if you’re lucky.
But a bundle of 10 email prompts (welcome emails, follow-ups, sales pitches, etc.) can easily sell for $29 or more.
How to Fix It:
Bundle your prompts into themed packs that solve a bigger problem.
Add bonuses like instructions, sample outputs, or tips for customization to make your offer irresistible.
Action Step: Group your existing prompts into a bundle. Price it higher and highlight the added value.
